A large and well-established property and investment group is seeking a Senior Group Accountant to join its Melbourne team in Sandringham. The group holds significant property and infrastructure assets, alongside active trading entities across retail and FMCG.

This is a mature, multi-entity business with a well-developed finance function - a genuine opportunity to take on a senior role with real scope and influence as the group continues to expand its portfolio.

About the Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will act as a genuine 2IC across the finance function, with broad exposure across reporting, compliance, systems, and strategic project work.

- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements across a multi-entity group structure
- Leading the month-end close process, including journal processing, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger management
- Managing cashflow forecasting, working capital optimisation, and liquidity oversight
- Preparing and submitting BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax, and other regulatory obligations, and liaising with external auditors and advisors
- Leading systems optimisation and automation initiatives to strengthen AP, approvals, and reporting workflows
- Strengthening internal control frameworks and supporting system implementations across a complex, multi-entity structure
- Providing financial insights, board reporting,



and commentary to senior leadership
- Supporting strategic projects including acquisitions, integrations, and portfolio expansion
- Partnering with operational teams across multiple business units

About You

You are a CA/CPA-qualified accountant with 5+ years of experience across group accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting. You bring strong technical capability alongside sound commercial judgement, and are comfortable operating with autonomy in a structured, professional workplace.

- CA or CPA qualification with a degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years' experience across group accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting
- Experience within a multi-entity environment is highly regarded but not essential
- Strong systems proficiency with experience implementing or upgrading financial systems
- High attention to detail with a commercially minded, solutions-oriented approach
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with senior leadership
- Sound judgement and the ability to navigate a complex, multi-entity structure
