This is a rare prospect to take ownership of a high-profile retail portfolio and shape the next chapter of PUMA’s Direct-to-Consumer strategy – balancing performance, brand experience, and long-term expansion across Australia and New Zealand.

The Opportunity This is more than a leadership role – it’s a chance to define how a global brand connects with consumers at scale.

As Head of Retail, you will lead PUMA’s Oceania retail business end-to-end, owning the commercial outcomes, elevating store experience, and building a high‑performing, future‑ready retail organisation. You’ll operate at the intersection of operations, merchandising, marketing, and property – bringing together multiple functions to deliver a seamless, premium in‑store journey.

What you will own Retail Operations Excellence

Define and execute the retail operating strategy across all stores

Elevate service, visual merchandising, and brand execution standards

Ensure best‑practice compliance, loss prevention, and operational efficiency

Partner with key external providers (logistics, payments, service partners)

People Leadership & Capability Building

Lead, coach, and develop a diverse retail leadership team

Drive succession planning, capability uplift, and talent retention

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Brand Experience & Retail Marketing

Partner with merchandising on range planning and OTB strategy

Optimise product assortment based on store profiles and market dynamics





Balance risk and opportunity to drive sales and margin outcomes

Align seasonal retail marketing plans with broader brand strategy

Execute global visual merchandising standards with local relevance

Deliver a consistent and impactful in‑store brand experience

Physical Footprint & Expansion

Lead retail expansion, refurbishments, and store pipeline strategy

Negotiate leases and manage landlord relationships

Oversee store design, build, and delivery to global standards

Strategy, Financial Performance & Growth

Deliver sales, margin, and EBIT targets

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance optimisation

Define the long‑term retail roadmap, balancing full‑price and outlet channels

Collaborate across wholesale and ecommerce to deliver a cohesive market strategy

What success looks like

Sales growth, gross margin, and profitability

Store productivity and conversion metrics

Customer experience and brand consistency

Strength and capability of your leadership team

Who You Are You are a seasoned retail leader with a track record of delivering results in fast‑paced, brand‑led environments. You thrive on building teams, optimising performance, and scaling retail operations with precision.

10+ years’ experience in retail, including senior leadership roles

Background in sports, fashion, or lifestyle retail environments

Deep expertise in retail operations, P&L; ownership, and store network management

Strong commercial acumen across merchandising, planning, and inventory

Experience leading both company‐owned and/or franchise retail models

Proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders in a matrix organisation
