Senior Solution Architect – Enterprise Applications (ERP & SAP Transformation)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Enterprise Solution Architect with extensive SAP experience to lead the end-to-end architecture for a major, multi-year ERP transformation program within a leading Enterprise Retail and Healthcare ecosystem.

This is a pivotal contract role designed for a strategic architect who brings deep SAP S/4HANA expertise combined with a broader enterprise-first mindset. Operating across a complex, high-volume retail, wholesale, and regulated pharmacy environment, you will define and govern application solutions spanning Finance, Supply Chain, Retail, and Corporate Platforms.

Responsibilities

- End-to-End Architecture Design: Lead cross-domain architecture spanning SAP S/4HANA, Supply Chain & Logistics, Retail platforms, Finance, and Enterprise Data/Integration.
- Architecture Governance: Present solutions to the Architecture Review Board, evaluate trade-offs, drive clean-core principles, and enforce target architecture alignment.
- SAP & Cloud Strategy: Leverage SAP products (S/4HANA, SAP Finance, SAP Supply Chain, RISE, BTP, MDG, SuccessFactors) while maintaining an enterprise-first, non-vendor-biased approach to minimise customisation.




- Integration & Security Alignment: Drive API-first and event-driven integration patterns (BTP-led direction), eliminating point-to-point dependencies and aligning with identity/security frameworks (Entra ID, ServiceNow).
- Data Ownership & Compliance: Establish robust master data governance and data ownership models in a heavily regulated retail/pharma distribution workplace.

Key Experience

- 10+ Years Experience: Proven track record as an Enterprise/Solution Architect leading large-scale ERP transformation programs.
- Deep SAP Expertise: Broad architecture exposure across SAP S/4HANA, RISE, SAP Finance, and SAP Supply Chain.
- Target Industry Experience: Demonstrated background in Retail, Supply Chain and/or Pharma/Healthcare ecosystems (Highly Regulated / High-Volume Distribution).
- Financial Services Industry Experience: Highly regarded / advantageous.
- Clean-Core & Cloud Strategy: Expert knowledge in clean-core architecture, cloud deployment models, and API-led integration.
- Governance & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional written/visual communication skills with proven ability to influence executive leadership, challenge vendors, and navigate complex ARB processes.
