Each year, RMIT brings on the world’s best and brightest researchers and teams to undertake transdisciplinary applied research that creates positive impact for society, the economy and the environment. This year, our focus is on building transdisciplinary capability in three key areas: Regenerative & Sustainable Futures, MedTech Innovation, Digital Innovation. Fellowships

Vice‑Chancellor’s Indigenous Principal Research Fellowship

Eligibility:

Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants holding a PhD. Track record:

Excellent research record with international recognition aligned with one or more of RMIT’s Strategic Research Priority Areas. Responsibilities:

Provide research leadership, build teams, develop networks, manage collaborative partnered research projects in a global setting. Salary:

Academic level D1‑D4 (depending on experience), $40,000per annum. Research Support Funding:

$40,000per annum for four years. Vice‑Chancellor’s Indigenous Senior Research Fellowship

Eligibility:

Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants holding a PhD. Track record:

Established research record with national reputation aligned with one of RMIT’s Strategic Research Priority Areas. Responsibilities:

Provide research leadership, develop networks, manage collaborative partnered research projects in a global environment. Salary:

Academic level C1‑C6 (depending on experience), $30,000per annum.



Research Support Funding:

$30,000per annum for four years. Vice‑Chancellor’s Indigenous Research Fellowship

Eligibility:

Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants holding a PhD. Track record:

Emerging research record with national reputation aligned with one of RMIT’s Strategic Research Priority Areas. Responsibilities:

Provide research leadership, develop networks, manage collaborative partnered research projects in a global workplace. Salary:

Academic level B2‑B6 (depending on experience), $20,000per annum. Research Support Funding:

$20,000per annum for four years. Vice‑Chancellor’s Indigenous Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Eligibility:

Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants holding a PhD. Requirements:

Significant contributions to RMIT’s research priorities through high‑quality projects and outputs. Responsibilities:

Lead team‑based research projects that impact the area of specialisation, expand knowledge quality research aligned with RMIT’s Strategic Research Priority Areas. Salary:

Academic level A6‑B2 (depending on year of PhD conferral), $10,000per annum. Research Support Funding:

$10,000per annum for four years. Additional:

Opportunity to build research track record and reputation, supported by training, development and mentorship. Eligibility & Confirmation
