We are hiring Senior Finance Manager for our client. Details mentioned below :

Position Summary Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (or CEO), the Senior Finance Manager will lead the company's financial operations, planning, reporting, compliance, and commercial finance activities while supporting strategic growth initiatives.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and experience in ERP systems, project accounting, manufacturing finance, and business process improvement. This role requires a hands‑on finance leader who can partner effectively with engineering, operations, project delivery, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the month‑end and year‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Prepare monthly management accounts, board reports, and financial performance analysis.

Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning.

Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and treasury activities.

Monitor financial performance against budgets and strategic objectives.

Commercial & Project Finance

Provide financial oversight for engineering and manufacturing projects.

Review project costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and profitability.

Partner with Project Managers to monitor project performance and financial risks.

Support commercial decision‑making through financial modelling and business analysis.

Review customer contracts from a financial and commercial perspective.

Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), IFRS, and statutory requirements.

Manage tax compliance including GST/BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and corporate tax obligations.





Coordinate internal and external audits.

Maintain robust financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.

ERP & Business Improvement

Lead continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes.

Drive ERP optimisation and finance transformation projects.

Partner with IT to improve financial reporting, automation, and data integrity.

Develop dashboards and management reporting tools to improve business visibility.

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.

Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Support cross‑functional teams by providing financial insights and guidance.

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business.

CPA or CA qualification.

8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.

Experience within aerospace, defence, manufacturing, engineering, mining, industrial, or project‑based organisations.

Strong experience in:

Budgeting and forecasting

Project accounting

Cost management

Manufacturing finance

Business partnering

ERP systems and finance transformation

Robust knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.

Advanced Excel and ERP experience (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Pronto, or similar).

Preferred Experience

Aerospace, defence, or advanced manufacturing industry experience.

Experience supporting government or defence contracts.

Exposure to project‑based engineering businesses.

Experience implementing or optimising ERP systems.

Knowledge of inventory accounting and manufacturing costing.
