What You Will Do The Technical Advisor at SailPoint begins by leveraging their experience to build a deep understanding of our SaaS and/or Software solutions. Within a month or two, they are serving as a technical lead on customer engagements and cases where they will employ their client and partner communication skills, as well as their industry knowledge to share organizational best practices for SailPoint products and identity governance. After their first six months, Technical Advisors will have established themselves as both technical and consultative experts within the Professional Services organization, and by the end of their first year they will have become a trusted advisor to customers, partners, leadership and to less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

As a trusted advisor, provide strategic direction to customers and implementation partners for a successful Identity Security Program

Perform assessment on customer’s current Identity landscape and build out their future identity road map

Build out customers’ Identity role based access control and application onboarding program

Ensure SailPoint best practices are followed through the project for a successful project delivery

Advise and provide direction to junior resources on the project implementation

Provide pros & cons to customers for building custom tools to meet their unique & complex business goals

Maintain healthy business relationship with customers and partners

Work with other advisory services leads, program managers and provide recommendations on any changes needed for the program

Work with other cross functional teams to understand the product roadmap, product limitations and advise strategic direction to the customers

Document and present SaaS product adoption gaps

Recommend areas where SaaS products consumption can be improved





Solve complex problems using product’s Atlas extensibility platform (hands‑on implementation work)

Optional Responsibilities

Manage, mentor, and coach Solution Architects on the team

Manage project scheduling, budgeting, risk, and weekly status

Work with CSM renewals' team to lower churn risk, increase SaaS adoption, and either generate leads and/or manage new advisory services opportunities

Responsible for existing Advisory services clients renewal opportunities and closure

Initial Journey First 30 Days (Learn & Integrate) Dive deep into SailPoint’s core identity security portfolio—including Identity Security Cloud (ISC), and emerging solutions like NERM and DAS—and the Atlas extensibility platform. You will shadow active customer engagements, learn organizational consulting best practices, and build strong foundational knowledge of our products, architectures, and internal cross-functional team structures.

First 60 Days (Engage & Assess) Collaborate closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Technical Leads to support initial customer engagements, joint Executive Business Reviews, and Business Value Realization touchpoints. You will begin performing initial maturity assessments, aligning customer business drivers with the SailPoint identity strategy, and designing integration roadmaps across technology alliances such as ServiceNow, SAP, AWS, and Workday etc, where you could also work along with a technical advisor for initial engagements.

First 90 Days (Drive & Advise) Transition into serving as a trusted strategic advisor,



leading vertical‑specific assessments and co‑creating forward‑looking success plans with key customer stakeholders. You will actively advocate for customer needs directly to Product and Engineering teams, represent common technical gaps to the Tech Council, mentor other architects, and drive customers toward standard out‑of‑the‑box features over complex custom code.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in technical consulting role

Strong communication and presentation skills needed to perform identity security program assessments and provide a road map

Experience with any Identity provisioning and governance products is required

Experience with networking, directory servers, databases is required

Experience with Azure, AWS is a plus

Experience with Web based APIs is required

Experience with Object Oriented Programming is nice to have

Experience with scripting framework (Angular, Node JS, TypeJS, etc.)

Strong organizational, leadership and multi‑tasking skills

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities

Documentation management and ability to use project management tools

Attention to details even under pressure

Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

IdentityIQ or IdentityNow Certification is a plus

Experience with data science & machine learning language models is a plus

CISSP, CCSP or CISM security certifications are a plus
