Director of Enterprise Performance, Governance and Risk

As QPAC enters a new era of growth, including the addition of the Glasshouse Theatre and increasing organisational complexity, we are seeking an experienced leader to strengthen maturity in enterprise risk alignment, governance, strategic decisioning processes and performance across the organisation. About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Enterprise Performance, Governance and Risk (3 Year Term) is a newly created leadership role responsible for embedding a proactive, practical and contemporary approach to enterprise risk, governance and compliance within QPAC. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board Committees and senior stakeholders, the role will be instrumental in developing and strengthening organisational resilience, commercial planning and supporting sound governance. This role is not intended to be a traditional risk management or risk administration position. While enterprise risk maturity, governance frameworks and assurance processes remain important foundations, the role has been intentionally elevated into a small number of Director-level leaders to provide strategic challenge, commercial insight and risk-informed advice on QPAC's most significant programming, operational, investment and transformation decisions, helping shape the organisation's future direction and performance. As a trusted advisor to the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Leadership Team and Board Committees, you will uplift the maturity of risk-based strategic decision-making, enhance organisational performance and contribute to the long-term sustainability of one of Australia’s leading performing arts organisations.



Key responsibilities include:

Leading and enhancing QPAC's enterprise risk management framework, including risk appetite, risk registers and risk reporting. Facilitating enterprise risk workshops and embedding effective risk management practices across the organisation. In conjunction with the Manager – Strategy, Planning & Legal, optimising strategy-linked enterprise performance planning, enterprise KPI delivery and strategic alignment across the organisation. Overseeing governance and compliance frameworks, including key statutory and government reporting obligations. Providing enterprise oversight of projects and programs to support strategic delivery and organisational accountability (with support from dedicated Project Managers). Leading QPAC's internal audit and assurance activities and driving continuous improvement outcomes. Preparing high-quality reporting and insights for the Board, Committees and Executive Leadership Team. About You

You are an experienced enterprise performance, governance or risk professional comfortable moving between strategic oversight and hands on delivery. You bring a pragmatic approach, strong judgement and the ability to drive outcomes across enterprise risk, governance, compliance and organisational performance. You have a proven track record of partnering with senior leaders to navigate complex organisational challenges and are confident influencing at the Executive and board level while remaining hands‑on, practical, solutions focused and commercially minded. A pragmatic approach to risk management with strong commercial acumen. Demonstrated experience influencing senior stakeholders and providing strategic advice across complex organisations.



Strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks, governance obligations and organisational accountability. Experience developing and implementing practical risk, governance or assurance initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality Executive, Board and Committee reporting. Experience within government, consulting, statutory authorities or other regulated environments will be highly regarded.
