- Fixed Term Full Time, 36 hours per week, 9-Day Fortnight
- Stream A Level 5
- Salary: $94,439 - $98,355 plus Super

A full time fixed term contract until January 2027 has become available in the Building Compliance Team with a possibility of extension. This role is crucial in investigating and enforcing development compliance, ensuring the city's growth aligns with legislative requirements and best practice standards. This role is primarily focusing on private swimming pool barrier safety and investigating unlawful building work.

What you’ll be doing:

- Conducting inspections and investigations to assess compliance with Queensland Swimming Pool Fencing standards.
- Conducting inspections and investigations to assess compliance with building and development legislation.
- Engaging with residents, pool safety inspectors, building certifiers, developers, and government agencies to ensure clear communication of regulations.
- Researching and interpreting legislation, policies, and records to provide informed recommendations.
- Preparing detailed reports and correspondence, ensuring compliance with business processes.
- Taking enforcement action when required to uphold legislative requirements and the City when deemed appropriate.

What We’re Looking For:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent industry experience.
- Completion of 11067NAT Course in Swimming Pool Safety Inspections or a holding a valid pool safety inspector licence will be highly regarded.




- A strong understanding of statutory compliance, development approvals, and enforcement procedures.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the Planning Act, Building Act, and Building Code of Australia, AS1926.1 2007 and MP3.4 of the Queensland Development Code is highly desirable.
- Experience in building compliance, or other relevant fields with additional experience in Regulatory Enforcement highly regarded.
- A positive and energetic outlook and enjoy working within a team.
- Excellent level of documentation and written communication skills
- The ability to prioritise and manage numerous investigations.
- A valid Class C Unrestricted Driver’s Licence
- WHS Licence (White Card) or willing to obtain one before starting.
