Role Overview

Reporting to the Research Manager, the CAM Technician will play a key role in supporting the production and processing of Gelion’s Cathode Active Material. Working with the Research Manager and Research Support Manager & Safety Officer, the CAM Technician will take a hands-on role in the setup, preparation and cleanup of key CAM-related processes, maintain laboratory equipment and support logistics processes. The CAM technician will also work to improve the efficiency and safety of CAM production in Gelion’s labs.

Please note we have an opportunity for one permanent role and one fixed-term, parental leave cover position.

Responsibilities Include:

- Maintaining equipment and supporting in the upkeep of a safe laboratory environment

- Coordinating across internal and external logistics processes, spanning from raw-material procurement to waste disposal.

- Production of CAM in line with internal and external demands.

- Work with the Research Support Manager & Safety Officer to support safe working conditions.

- Support with process improvements to increase efficient production of CAM.

- Complete safety documentation to a high standard.

- Conduct quality control and analysis of Cathode Active Material.

- Work with the broader Technology Team to confirm the function of the CAM in coin cells through coin cell cycling processes.

- Supporting with other processes relating to CAM fabrication, purification, processing and analysis, as required.

- Present to the team on progress within the CAM production process.

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelors/Honours Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.

- Experience of working in a chemical laboratory workplace.

- A demonstrable passion for energy storage and renewable technology.





- Self-driven and proactive working style with adaptability to changing priorities.

- Strong documentation and reporting skills.

- Commitment to laboratory safety and safe handling of hazardous materials.

- Experience of chemical analysis and quality control processes.

Additional Requirements:

- Willingness to multi-task and preform duties befitting of position description as required in a technology start up.

- This is a laboratory-based role, requiring 5 days on site at Gelion’s laboratories.
