Hedland Senior High School (SHS) located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The Role
The Student Support Officer is responsible for maintaining and promoting good order within student support. This includes responding to parent/caregiver requests, triaging the needs of students who are seeking assistance from student support, and ensuring established expectations, routines, and processes in student support are followed.
The successful applicant will assist with administrative processes and provision of information to students, staff and parents, ensuring a responsive and effective student support service. Additionally, the successful applicant,
under direction, will have the opportunity to collaborate and conduct discussions with staff, parents/guardians and the community to identify student absenteeism and to collect and provide case information. You may be required to assist with the implementation of a range of school attendance and wellbeing strategies.
The successful applicant will also support with updating important medical and health information on our student data entry system.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

1. Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide a professional, confidential service to a range of clients.

3. Demonstrated experience in the use of computerised management information systems including database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
4. Demonstrated effective organisational skills and experience in providing administrative support with the ability to manage conflicting timelines.
