We’re excited to be growing our engineering capability in Victoria with the launch of a dedicated Victorian Engineering team. This is a major milestone for CPP, creating recent opportunities for engineers to work on local projects while being part of a nationally connected team. Our Melbourne office will become a key hub in our network, and we’re looking for talented engineers to help build and grow this new location from the ground up.

Design & Engineering CPP has the largest in-house design and engineering team of any contractor in Australia, with over 170 specialists across Electrical Primary and Secondary, Civil, Structural, and SCADA disciplines. We provide end-to-end engineering solutions for high-voltage infrastructure, including nationally significant transmission projects, HV substations, wind farms and battery storage systems that drive Australia’s renewable energy transition.

The Opportunity Step into a career-defining role as Manager - Primary Design at CPP Victoria, where you will play a key role in delivering high-voltage substation projects that support the growth of Australia’s renewable energy and utility sectors.

We are seeking an experienced engineer to build and lead CPP’s newly created Victorian Primary Engineering and Design team. As Manager - Primary Design, you will oversee the primary design of high-voltage substations and associated infrastructure, reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will lead and grow a team of engineers and drafters, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar senior engineering role, a deep understanding of primary design principles, and strong leadership capabilities.

About You Desired Skills and Experience To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent

Chartered status and BLA (or the ability to achieve upon commencement)

10+ years’ experience at a senior level,



including substation design and/or utility grid connections

Proven experience in primary design and engineering, with knowledge of civil, structural, and overhead line design

Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing, collaborative teams

Strong understanding of industry standards and client requirements

Experience with renewable grid connection projects in Australia

Based in Victoria or willing to relocate (relocation assistance available)
