Our State Government client is looking for an experienced Principal Security Consultant to lead the design, implementation and ongoing management of SAP S/4HANA application security across a large enterprise environment. The role focuses on securing Finance, Business and Logistics platforms, including SAP GRC Access Control and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

You will provide technical leadership across SAP security initiatives, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant and scalable SAP security solutions.

You will provide technical leadership across SAP security initiatives, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant and scalable SAP security solutions.

Key responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, maintenance and optimisation of SAP S/4HANA application security and authorisations.

Manage and mentor senior security consultants and technical team members.

Design, build and maintain SAP security roles and authorisation models.

Analyse and resolve complex SAP security issues while delivering innovative business solutions.

Lead system design, development, testing, documentation and ongoing maintenance of SAP security solutions.





Develop and implement application security controls, policies and procedures aligned with enterprise security standards.

Provide expert guidance on SAP security role design, role maintenance and Segregation of Duties (SoD) remediation.

Support SAP GRC Access Control implementation and ongoing management.

Provide expert advice on security risks, issues and strategic initiatives.

Assist with audit activities, compliance reviews and security incident investigations.

Maintain knowledge of emerging SAP security technologies, industry trends and legislative requirements.

Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to deliver secure enterprise solutions.

Support knowledge transfer and capability uplift across the team.

Ensure compliance with quality management, information security and workplace policies.

Skills and experience

Extensive commercial experience designing, implementing and maintaining SAP S/4HANA security authorisations.

Strong experience designing, building and supporting SAP S/4HANA security solutions within large enterprise environments.

Demonstrated experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Experience implementing and managing BTP security, including:

Cloud Identity Services (CIS)





Identity Authentication Service (IAS)

Identity Provisioning Service (IPS)

Strong understanding of SAP GRC Access Control.

Experience with SAP security role design, authorisation concepts and Segregation of Duties (SoD).

Robust analytical and problem solving skills within complex enterprise environments.

Ability to provide expert SAP security advice across support, maintenance and project delivery.

Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.

Robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Experience working within governance, compliance and regulatory frameworks.

Relevant tertiary qualification is highly regarded.

Willingness to support project activities outside standard business hours when required.

Desirable criteria

Experience working within large enterprise or government environments.

Experience supporting enterprise SAP Finance, Payroll or Logistics platforms.

Knowledge of enterprise information security frameworks and governance standards.

Experience supporting audit activities and security incident investigations.Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management practices.

Ability to work across multiple projects and technical teams simultaneously.

Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring technical teams.
