Help at Hand Support Services is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers who would like to join us and help make a difference to the lives of people with a disability. You will provide a person-centred approach and your daily routine will depend on the person you are supporting. Every day could be different: you might assist a client to go out to the beach, to a movie or a game, or you might attend a medical appointment and keep them company at home with a cup of tea. This type of work is exciting and varied.

Responsibilities

- Provide a person-centred approach to support people with a disability.
- Assist clients with daily activities, outings, and community participation.
- Support clients during medical appointments and other health appointments.
- Keep clients company at home, providing companionship and support.

Qualifications

- Own fully insured and reliable vehicle.




- International police check (if applicable) or current police check (must be within 6 months from date of application).
- Cert III in Disability or above, or equivalent experience.
- Current Working with Children check.
- First aid/CPR certificates (current).
- Full and clean Australian driver’s licence.
- Be punctual, reliable and flexible.
- Positive written and verbal communication skills.
- Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest to work in this field.
- Ability to self-supervise and remain calm and composed at times of crisis.
- Right to live and work in Australia.
