Senior Manager, Technology Risk Advisory

Your New Role

Technology will be fundamental in achieving our business objectives and delivering our value proposition to our members. As the Senior Manager, Technology Services Advisory you will be a key member of the Group Risk leader team reporting to the Head of Operational Risk.

A key tenant of the role is to provide advice, oversight and challenge on Risk Management practices of AustralianSuper's technology platforms, cyber resilience and data governance in our newly formed Technology Digital and Data. This will include working closely with Domain management and First Line Risk colleagues to assist them to identify, assess and manage risks, within the context of the AustralianSuper Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement. This role requires significant utilisation of influence and collaboration skills.

- Act as a trusted advisor and business partner to the Domains on all technology & data risk matters; providing strategic, well thought out advice to ensure that the Domains effectively manage risk, and in doing so, achieve measurable business and member outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels across AustralianSuper and have a strong grasp over business objectives, challenges and risks (current and emerging)



to facilitate greater collaboration between First and Second lines of accountability in relation to the management of risk relevant to Technology & data.
- Provide insightful analysis, interpretation and challenge of Technology, Digital & Data Domain risk profiles, based on a thorough technical understanding of Risk Management, together with robust knowledge of the business and a deep and broad market view on risk and current best practice.
- Provide independent, specialist Second Line Risk support through oversight and challenge of First Line risk management activities.
- Oversight of technology operational risk testing and assurance programs and activities across First Line.
- Undertake Second Line monitoring and oversight activities in line with areas of focus and scope agreed with the business, and influence business decision making regarding findings and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other members of the Group Risk team to deliver accurate and insightful risk reporting to the Leadership Team, the Board, the Risk and Compliance Committee and other Board committees as necessary.
- Motivate and inspire our people by demonstrating commitment to the Fund's values, decision pillars and leadership principles.

What You'll Need

- Strong technology risk advisory experience (10+ years), preferably gained in a Financial Services organisation.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to engage and influence at all levels including Board, Board Committees, Senior Leadership, peers, industry bodies and regulators.




- Preferred experience in dealing with APRA, ASIC and other financial services regulators.
- Outstanding ability to write with effect, particularly in relation to creating reports and updating risk framework documents.
- Strong understanding of control design and operating effectiveness.
- Experience in building sound risk awareness amongst colleagues by providing ongoing support and training.
- Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA) or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
