Council is currently seeking a Town Planner to join our team!

About Orange City Council:

In this role, you will be part of a energetic group responsible for the assessment and review of over 500 development applications (DA's) per year across an area of approximately 290km2 . You will encounter a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial to industrial and rural developments.

- Competitive Salary : From $91,252 to $99,464 plus super (based on qualifications and experience)

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Coordinator Development Assessment,



key responsibilities include:

- Reviewing and assessing development applications (DA's).
- Providing advice on development proposals and land use matters.
- Conducting on-site inspections of developments and land.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, including the general public, developers, elected representatives, and other Council staff.

About you:

- Recognised tertiary qualifications in town planning.
- Prior experience in a similar role within Development Assessment
- A valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, the Local Government Act, and relevant environmental legislation.
- High level communication and problem-solving skills.
- Eligibility for Corporate membership with the Planning Institute Australia.
