Senior ECC Veterinary Nurse | CARE, Collingwood

We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse with substantial experience in Emergency and Critical Care nursing. Additional qualifications are preferred but not essential. You need to be clinically confident, calm under pressure, and capable of leading by example in a quick-paced environment.

In this role, you’ll be encouraged to take ownership of patient care, mentor junior nurses, and contribute to clinical decision-making, with ongoing opportunities to continue expanding your own advanced ECC skillset. This role is for someone who is already operating at a senior level—or ready to step confidently into one.

Responsibilities

- Delivering a high standard of holistic nursing care to critically ill and injured patients,



from triage through their entire CARE journey
- Acting as a senior clinical resource during shifts, supporting both nursing and veterinary teams
- Mentoring and guiding less experienced nurses to build confidence, skills, and clinical judgement
- Management of day flow to ensure productivity across the hospital
- Assisting with anaesthesia, advanced procedures, and surgery
- In-house laboratory testing, complemented by advanced diagnostic tools including ultrasound, endoscopy and CT
- Undertake specific front-desk duties outside of normal reception hours and provide clear, compassionate support to clients via telephone

Qualifications and experience

We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse with substantial experience in Emergency and Critical Care nursing. Additional qualifications are preferred but not essential. You need to be clinically confident, calm under pressure, and capable of leading by example in a fast-paced environment. This role is suitable for a nurse who is already operating at a senior level or who is ready to step confidently into one.
