The Role

We are currently seeking a Senior SMSF Accountant to join a well-established Public Practice Firm. In this role, you will take ownership of a quality portfolio of SMSFs, handle end-to-end compliance, and liaise directly with clients and auditors. This is a great opportunity for a confident, technically strong accountant looking to step into a more autonomous and trusted role within a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation for SMSF clients
- End-to-end management of SMSF accounting and compliance matters
- Liaising with external auditors and acting as the primary point of contact for SMSF clients
- Staying up to date with superannuation legislation and compliance changes
- Assisting with process improvements and mentoring junior team members (if desired)
- Working with Class, BGL360, or similar SMSF platforms

What we are looking for

- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with SMSFs in a public practice firm
- Strong knowledge of SMSF compliance
- Experience with Class, BGL360, or similar software
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Confident communicator with a client-first approach
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards
