Community Engagement Manager – University of Melbourne

We invite applications for the Community Engagement Manager role (100% full‑time, fixed‑term for 3 years) at the University of Melbourne.

Base pay range: A$111,275.00/yr – A$120,453.00/yr.

Position Details

Responsibilities

- Assist in the successful delivery of the centre’s community engagement events, programs and initiatives, providing administrative assistance and ensuring operational success and communication.
- Coordinate community partnerships, developing and managing strategic relationships, activities and events.
- Implement engagement plans aligned with Dilin Duwa’s strategy, managing risks and reporting outcomes.
- Allocate and manage resources effectively to support community programs, ensuring timely contractor payments.
- Create engaging content for various communication channels to showcase Dilin Duwa's work to internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee a diverse portfolio of programs, including regional workshops (e.g. Alice Springs – Mparntwe, Shepparton – Kanny Goopna, Broome – Rubibi, Yarrabah) and any new programmes developed by the centre.

Qualifications

- Degree or relevant experience in a large, complex service‑oriented environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience developing and sustaining community relationships and partnerships.
- Track record in negotiating community engagement initiatives.
- High‑level organisational and time‑management skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding when working with diverse community groups.
