Senior Strategic Designer

Chrysalis is our Transformation Hub, innovating to improve service delivery for children, young people, carers and families. As Senior Strategic Designer, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, leading and delivering impactful initiatives that address systemic challenges in the child and family sector.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver innovation and design methodologies, including interviews and workshops with staff, clients, community members and those with lived experience.
- Engage and support young people, carers and families in safe, meaningful design processes, using a range of engagement methods.
- Create artefacts such as design principles, current‑state maps, future‑state journey maps and blueprints.
- Lead and manage multiple projects and activities, balancing deep collaboration with practical project tasks.
- Build team capacity in innovation and design.
Salary and benefits
- Base salary: $110,000/annum (1.0 FTE) + super, mobile and salary‑packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.

About you
- Degree or equivalent qualification in social sciences, design or a related field.
- Experience in the public or NFP sector, with a focus on social innovation and/or design.
- History of working with children, young people and adults experiencing disadvantage, and facilitating engagement with diverse stakeholders.
- Systems thinker capable of seeing patterns, asking bold questions and holding space for complex conversations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a sensitivity to language and cultural differences.
