Due to rapid growth, we have a brand-recent opportunity for a tech‑savvy Junior Category Manager to join our Tech & Electronics divisions within the Purchasing team. You will be the commercial driving force behind curating our product range, ensuring Kogan.com customers always have access to the most in‑demand, trending tech on the market. Reporting directly to the Director of Purchasing, you will have true ownership of your category portfolio and be responsible for developing exciting new products, building strong supplier partnerships, managing P&L; responsibilities and leveraging the latest data and AI tools.

Responsibilities

- Identifying commercial opportunities for category expansion, including sourcing and developing current products.
- Engaging and sourcing key suppliers, locally and internationally, from world’s best brands and Kogan.com’s exclusive brands.
- Actively managing daily category operations, including planning and promotional activity, inventory management, shipping and logistics to exceed revenue and profit targets each month.
- Managing and engaging with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to build effective relationships and achieve outcomes.
- Maximising profitability of all products through deep understanding of the category and the market.
- Being proactive, innovative and continually developing the category for our customers.
- Actively negotiating the best possible trading terms and prices.
- Driving and controlling price changes across sales channels and contributing to pricing reviews when required.
- Ensuring timely introduction of new products, efficient management of current and future inventory and fulfillment of customer demand.
- Actively managing and monitoring inventory levels to achieve the category’s goals and KPIs, including forward forecasting, promotional planning and reacting to market conditions.




- Partnering with Marketing & Promotions to ensure product listings are well merchandised and discoverable, supporting the customer journey.
- Monitoring performance and completing range reviews, taking action where necessary.

Qualifications

- University degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or similar).
- Experience with category ownership at an Assistant or Junior level, or experience supporting a Category Manager with exposure to a product range and readiness to take full ownership; experience within eCommerce, Retail or FMCG environments and/or Tech & Electronics categories is highly regarded.
- Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships through exceptional communication and engagement.
- Highly analytical and possessing commercial nous, able to recognise opportunity and make quick decisions for the best commercial outcomes.
- Comfortable working within a fast‑paced, dynamic environment; agile and adaptable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
- Highly proficient with various IT and cloud‑based tools, with a keen eye for leveraging AI to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Ready to challenge, be challenged and work within our highly disruptive business model.
- Required to undergo a National Police Record check and must have full‑time Australian working rights.
