The Organisation
Our client, one of Australia’s largest property fund managers, is seeking an engaging and experienced property lawyer to join the in-house legal team in the Melbourne CBD office.

The Role
The role reports to a Managing Legal Counsel and involves working closely with other members of the legal team and partnering with stakeholders across all business functions and supporting core teams.
Responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating general commercial and property agreements such as confidentiality agreements, consultancy agreements, minor works agreements and construction agreements
- Assisting with leasing matters
- Managing tenant disputes
- Assisting teams on property acquisition, disposal and capital and/or co-investment opportunities and mandate matters as required
- Updating precedent documents,
conducting research, and providing training to the business
About you
This role would suit:
- a proactive lawyer with transactional commercial property law experience
- a minimum of 7 years’ PQE from a well-regarded law firm or similar in-house environment
- Prior experience in high-value property acquisitions
- Proficiency in managing leases ideally in the retail sector
- ideally some knowledge of construction law (not essential)
