Swimming Instructors – Multiple Positions

Commencing: September 2026

St Hilda's School is seeking passionate and dedicated Swimming Instructors to join our Aquatics team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality aquatic programs, including Learn to Swim, clinics, holiday programs and other aquatic activities, within a supportive and professional environment.

Shifts are available Monday to Friday 3.30pm - 5.30pm and Saturday 8.00am – 10.00am.

About the Position

You will deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons that build water confidence, safety awareness and technical skill across swimmers of all ages and abilities. You will work collaboratively with the Aquatics and Sports Precinct Manager, Aquatics Coordinator, and other aquatic staff to maintain the highest standards of safety, professionalism and customer service, while contributing to the ongoing growth and reputation of the School's aquatic programs.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Deliver Learn to Swim lessons and other aquatic programs in line with St Hilda's program frameworks




- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and confidence
- Maintain active supervision and uphold rigorous safety standards at all times
- Communicate student progress to families and relevant staff
- Support holiday programs, clinics and special aquatic events as required.

About You

You are an experienced, highly capable and personable swim teacher or coach with a genuine passion for helping swimmers reach their potential. You bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, a collaborative team approach, and a commitment to providing an outstanding and enjoyable experience for students and families.

Essential Requirements

- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification and licence (SISSS00132 or equivalent)
- Current CPR and first aid certification (HLTAID009 and HLTAID011)
- Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card), or eligibility to obtain prior to appointment
- Demonstrated experience teaching swimming and water safety programs and/or coaching swimming
- Physical capacity to demonstrate correct strokes and techniques, actively supervise participants in and around water, and perform in-water rescue or emergency response actions as required
- Availability to work rostered shifts, including afternoons, weekends and school holiday periods.

Desirable





- AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive Strokes and Coaching, or equivalent
- Swimming Australia or ASCTA coaching accreditation
- Current Pool Lifeguard Qualification (SISSS00133 or equivalent)
- Experience working within a school environment or delivering clinics and community aquatic programs.
