About the role
Barleys Traffic Management is seeking an experienced Corporate Services and Operations Manager to coordinate the company’s operational and corporate support functions.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this position will manage day-to-day operations, workforce planning, administration, scheduling, vehicles, equipment and other business resources. The role will also support the development of operational procedures, performance reporting, compliance systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with office personnel, operational supervisors, traffic-management personnel, clients and senior management to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with client, company and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organise and coordinate the company’s operational and corporate support functions.
- Manage the allocation of labour, vehicles, equipment and operational resources.
- Oversee administration, scheduling and workforce-coordination activities.
- Monitor workforce availability and prepare operational resource forecasts.
- Develop and implement operational and administrative procedures, systems and guidelines.
- Ensure traffic-management services are delivered in accordance with approved Traffic Guidance Schemes and client requirements.
- Liaise with clients regarding scheduling, service delivery and operational requirements.
- Monitor operational performance, resource utilisation and service-delivery outcomes.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for the Managing Directors.
- Support operational budgeting, cost control and business planning.
- Manage operational issues, complaints and escalations.
- Support recruitment, workforce planning and employee development.
- Coordinate incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations and applicable legal requirements.
- Maintain effective communication between field personnel, office personnel, clients and senior management.
- Identify opportunities to improve business systems, service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to business growth through strong client relationships and effective service delivery.
These responsibilities expand on the attached Operations Manager position, which currently covers operational coordination, resource allocation, workforce availability, client liaison, compliance, performance improvement and management of operational issues.
About you
You will be a capable and commercially minded manager who can balance workforce requirements, client expectations, compliance obligations and changing operational priorities.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in operations management, corporate services, business administration or workforce coordination.
- Experience managing administrative, scheduling or operational personnel.
- Strong workforce-planning and resource-allocation skills.
- Experience developing operational procedures, systems and business improvements.
- Strong analytical,
reporting and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong client-management, communication and negotiation skills.
- A sound understanding of workplace compliance, safety and operational risk.
- Experience contributing to budgets, business planning and organisational performance reporting.
- Competence using workforce-management, scheduling and business administration systems.
Qualifications
A qualification in one or more of the following areas is highly regarded:
- Business management
- Leadership and management
- Business administration
- Operations management
- Human resource management
- A related discipline
Relevant traffic-management, civil construction, logistics, infrastructure or field-service experience will also be highly regarded.
