Young Minds Academy | Opening late 2026

Young Minds Academy is excited to announce the launch of our brand new 106 place early learning centre in Hamlyn Terrace, opening late 2026. We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and forward-thinking Centre Director to help us assemble our foundation team and welcome families into our service for the very first time. With child safety being our number one priority we are looking for a Director who can lead a team with the same values.

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Hours: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

About the Role

As the founding Centre Director, you will play a key role in shaping the culture, systems, and educational excellence of our new service. Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading the recruitment and onboarding of a new, high-performing team

- Managing day-to-day operations including rosters, ratios, and compliance

- Establishing strong, trust-based relationships with families, staff, and the local community

- Delivering a high-quality educational program aligned with the EYLF and NQS

- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements

- Supporting your team to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

- Ensuring an environment where child safety is paramount.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a confident, motivated leader who is excited by the opportunity to build a centre from the ground up. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:





- Previous experience as a Centre Director or 2IC, with at least one year in a leadership role

- Minimum six years of industry experience in early childhood education and care

- A strong understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and current best practices

- Proven team management, mentoring, and leadership skills

- The ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture

- Initiative, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset

- A warm and approachable attitude towards families and staff

Key Requirements

- Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education

- Valid Working with Children Check

- Approved Child Protection Training

- First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management certifications

- All certifications must be current and valid at the time of application

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, enrolments, and marketing strategies

- Experience supporting vulnerable and diverse families

- Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and relevant legislation

- Australian work rights are required for this position
