About the Role

The Production Supervisor is required to oversee all operational aspects of processing, cracking, colour sorting and finishing rooms on their shift at the Bundaberg Factory and to work closely with the Production Manager and factory team leaders to deliver the scheduled outcome on a day-to-day basis. As a key member of the processing team, you are responsible for the everyday workings of staff and machines in your care and operations.

Duties include but not limited to:

- Oversee and manage the staff on your shift and execute the production activities and processes.

- Work with your manager to ensure adequate resourcing levels.

- Adhere to production schedules to meet targets.

- Assist the Production Manager and production team to develop accurate forecasting of future production targets.

- Constantly evaluate work practices in regard to health and safety and immediately report any unsafe practice or equipment and not carry out any practices or operate any equipment until it is safe to do so.

- Ensure that the product made on your shift meets or exceeds quality specification.

- Control product loss by ensuring that all by product streams meet or exceed specification including oil stock, Manufacturing grade and shell.

- Maintain KPI expectations set down by management and follow the schedule set by the management team.





- Work closely with all staff and other departmental supervisors/managers as needed.

- Maintain all required paperwork.

- Assist to maintain accurate and up to date safe work procedures and ensure staff have been trained before starting a recent job.

- Ensure all production jobs are fully completed in a timely manner (this includes all documentation to the relevant parties to close out the job).

- Effectively over lay current Quality and Safety requirements with processing requirements.

- Report any repairs and maintenance issues.

- Create an environment for open communication to allow staff to share their ideas.

- Supervise staff on your shift and report any issues to your manager.

- Keep all staff updated and current with SWP’s.

- Help roll out new or revised procedures.

Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience

- Experience in a similar type of role in the food manufacturing industry

- Demonstrated experience working with machinery in a food manufacturing environment

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to listen and collaborate in a team environment

- Problem solving ability

- People management

- Commitment to quality management and continuous improvement

- Commitment to Safety

- Experience working in macadamia nut production is highly desirable

What You Should Know About Our Operations

Our business is widespread, growing walnuts and almonds in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados, and mangoes in Bundaberg, Queensland. In addition to fruit and nut growing, we also operate apiaries located in Temora, Nowra and Dubbo.

Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
