Own the whole of operations for a trusted, second-generation aged care provider — and shape how quality home care is delivered under Support at Home.
About Esse Care
Since 1988, Esse Care has been a trusted provider of home care services across Melbourne and beyond. From humble beginnings as a family-run business, we have grown into a second-generation, registered Support at Home provider with more than 35 years of experience delivering ethical, transparent and person-centred care. Our multicultural team reflects the diversity of the communities we serve, and our values of honesty, inclusivity and service excellence guide everything we do.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Executive Team, you will own operations end-to-end across Victoria and New South Wales — leading our team of Care Partners and frontline workforce, keeping services high-quality and compliant, and driving performance and growth across two states.
You will be joining at a defining moment. The Aged Care Act 2024, the strengthened Quality Standards and Support at Home have rewritten how home care is funded, delivered and regulated — and we are looking for an operator who knows this landscape and can turn reform into results.
What You Will Do
• Lead day-to-day operations across VIC and NSW — service delivery, client intake and onboarding, rostering and workforce planning
• Own Support at Home program performance and ensure compliance with program requirements end-to-end — client budget utilisation, care management within the cap, accurate claiming, and margin within government price caps
• Lead, mentor and develop our multicultural team of Care Partners, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Partner with the clinical team on clinical governance, incidents, SIRS reporting, complaints,
audits and quality improvement — keeping us audit-ready at all times
• Drive growth through new partnerships and referral pathways, and build Esse Care’s presence in local communities
• Translate strategy and sector reform into operational plans, and give the Executive Team clear, data-driven reporting on performance and risk
About You
• A solid track record of operational leadership in aged care, home care or related community services
• Deep working knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024, the strengthened Quality Standards and the Support at Home funding model
• Proven capability in compliance, quality systems, and incident and risk management
• Demonstrated success leading dispersed teams and developing managers, with the interpersonal skills to inspire and build trust at every level
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, margin and workforce costs
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (business or health) desirable, clinical experience highly regarded, and a current driver’s licence with capacity to travel
What’s on Offer
• A competitive remuneration package, negotiable with experience
• A true seat at the table — direct influence with the Executive Team on the direction of the business
• Autonomy to run operations your way, backed by an established provider with more than 35 years in care
• Flexible working arrangements
• The rare chance to lead a provider through a landmark reform period, with ongoing professional development
How to Apply
Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as applications may be reviewed prior to the closing date. The closing date is subject to change without notice. Successful candidates will be subject to background checks including a national criminal history check, reference checks and a pre-employment medical.
