Rising Sun Hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional who takes pride in preparing high-quality meals and contributing to a busy hotel kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare, cook, and present meals in line with the hotels menu and quality standards.
Ensure food is prepared fresh, safely, and consistently for customers.
Assist with menu planning, specials, and seasonal food offerings.
Maintain high standards of food presentation, portion control, and kitchen hygiene.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Ensure all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations are followed.
Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Train and support junior kitchen staff where required.
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workstation.
Assist with managing food costs, wastage, and kitchen productivity.
Requirements Previous experience as a Chef in a hotel, restaurant, pub, or similar hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
Relevant commercial cookery qualification is preferred.
Must be reliable, hardworking, and passionate about delivering quality food.

1-3 years
Qualification: An Australian Certificate III in Patisserie/Baking Certifications: A current Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain one quickly) is highly regarded.
Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in a commercial cafe or bakery setting.
Relevant industry experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
Skills: Sound knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient characteristics, and a passion for artisanal quality.
