Job Description

Ramsay Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) to join our team. This crucial role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation, directly impacting patient care representation, funding, and clinical truth. This is a part time position, with the expectation that the role will provide annual leave coverage for the remainder of the CDI team.

About the Role:

As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will:

- Concurrently review clinical documentation to accurately reflect complexity, case mix, and resource consumption.
- Support the clinical coding process, ensuring appropriate remuneration and the clinical truth.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to clarify documentation and support best practice.

About You:

To excel in this position, you will possess:

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science or an Allied Health profession will be considered with evidence of prior CDS experience.
- Demonstrated recent five years’ clinical experience with acute care knowledge.




- The ability to effectively communicate with the clinical multi-disciplinary team and Health Information Service members.
- The ability to apply critical thinking when reviewing medical records and communicating with clinicians.
- Excellent leadership skills and maintain professionalism when engaging with others.
- The ability to prioritise, schedule tasks, and deliver results within prescribed timeframes.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent IT skills.

Highly Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

- Post Graduate nursing or leadership qualification.
- CDIA Certificate 1, 2, or 3.
- An understanding of Private Health Care Funding models.
- A comprehensive understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and accreditation process.
- Strong broad-based clinical knowledge and an understanding of pathology/physiology of disease processes.

Additional Information
