Language for Life Speech Pathology Services is a well-established, multidisciplinary private practice based in Melbourne. We provide high-quality services to paediatric and adult clients across Australia, offering support under the NDIS, Medicare, private health insurance, TAC, and WorkSafe. Our services include Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dietetics, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Social Work, Counselling, Audiology, Allied Health Assistance, Developmental Education, Exercise Physiology, Plan Management, NDIS Funding Application Assistance, Support Coordination, Household Tasks, and Positive Behaviour Support.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated Behaviour Support Practitioners to deliver high-quality services to paediatric and/or adult individuals within their local community.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to individuals with disabilities, focusing on reducing behaviours of concern and enhancing their quality of life. Key duties include:

- Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments to identify triggers, strengths, and underlying causes of behaviours through observations, interviews, and data collection.
- Develop and implement individualized Behaviour Support Plans with proactive and reactive strategies to address behaviours of concern and promote quality of life.
- Collaborate with participants, families, caregivers,



and support networks to ensure consistent implementation of strategies.
- Support individuals in developing functional skills to reduce restrictive practices.
- Monitor and evaluate behaviour support strategies using data and evidence-based practices to track progress and make adjustments as needed.
- Advocate for individuals’ human rights while working collaboratively with allied health professionals to deliver ethical, person-centered, and holistic support.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, Education, or a related field.
- Registration as a Proficient NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Relevant experience in behaviour support, particularly with individuals with disabilities.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWC), NDIS Worker Screening Check, and First Aid Certification.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles and NDIS regulations.
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage caseloads and track progress.
