Undergraduate Nursing Workforce Coordinator

Permanent Part time, up to 32 hours per fortnight

Nurses & Midwives Enterprise Agreement, Educator (RN35) $64.82895 per hour

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Learning and Development Unit at West Gippsland Healthcare Group as the Undergraduate Nursing Workforce Coordinator.

This key role is responsible for the coordination, governance, workforce planning, quality oversight, and operational integration of our Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing, Midwifery and Enrolled Nursing programs (RUSON, RUSOM and REN). Working closely with nursing and midwifery leaders, managers, educators, universities and workforce teams, you will help develop the future healthcare workforce while ensuring students are supported to contribute safely and effectively to high-quality patient care.

Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, this role combines both education and workforce coordination responsibilities. The successful candidate will provide education, mentoring, coaching and support to RUSONs, RUSOMs and RENs throughout their employment journey, while also managing the administrative and operational aspects of the program, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, workforce planning, reporting and retention initiatives.

This position requires an individual who is equally comfortable working in a clinical education and mentorship capacity as well as undertaking the administrative, organisational and workforce planning functions required to ensure the successful operation and sustainability of the undergraduate workforce programs.

Our preferred candidate will also demonstrate:

- Experience in education, coaching, mentoring and supporting undergraduate nursing and/or midwifery students.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage recruitment processes, onboarding, workforce data and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to student engagement, workforce retention and the development of future nursing and midwifery workforce pathways.
- The ability to successfully balance educational,



mentoring and workforce administration responsibilities within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Selection Criteria:

- Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum five years post-registration clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting undergraduate nursing and/or midwifery students.
- Proven ability to coordinate workforce planning, rostering and workforce reporting activities.
- Detailed understanding of the RUSON/RUSOM/REN scope of practice, including core duties and exclusion lists.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.

The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:

- Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management and/or education.
- Knowledge of the Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement and Victorian Department of Health guidelines relating to RUSON, RUSOM and REN programs.
- Experience in nursing or midwifery leadership, education, student coordination or workforce management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and change management skills.
