About the Opportunity
The Project Engineer Manager is responsible for ensuring the LOTE Control & Monitoring Project is delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and meets customer’s expectations within the business constraints of time, cost and quality. Key scope within this project entails the following:
- Integration and testing of LOTE design changes to the platform management system, ISCMMS
- Delivery of the LOTE Cyber program
- Design and manufacture of all impacted platform consoles
In conjunction to managing the development of the control and monitoring technical solution the Project Engineering Manager will be appointed as the Control Account Manager to ensure accountability for Project budgets, along with being accountable for the overall coordination of work scope including management of subcontractors, scheduling of requirements, application of Program control measures, managing risks and reporting progress to stakeholders.
This is a full time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the LOTE Control & Monitoring Project is delivered in context of LOTE Program priorities and in close cooperation with other LOTE teams and program stakeholders considering safety, project performance and quality, scope constraints, schedule and cost.
- Lead, coach and develop the LOTE Control & Monitoring team to achieve key program milestones and project outcomes, considering staff capabilities and capacity.
- Manage the programmatic and technical aspects of a LOTE Approved Subcontract.
- Manage Quality and Compliance for the Technical deliverables as part of the LOTE Control & Monitoring Project Scope
- Manage the LOTE Control & Monitoring Project Scope as contracted for the LOTE Program, including effective management of change.
- Manage the LOTE Control & Monitoring Project Schedule in line with key Program Milestones and in the context of the LOTE Program Schedule.
- Manage LOTE Control & Monitoring Project Cost and Performance in line with Financial and EVMS guidelines.
About you
- Bachelor degree in applicable field (e.g., engineering, project management) or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience with submarines/CCSM
- Previous experience in leading a team.
- Previous experience in managing approved subcontractors.
- Demonstrated experience in Control Systems and/or Platform Management Systems Development and Integration, and/or Software Development Projects, and/or Combat Systems Integration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large, complicated, multi-dimensional projects and tasks.
- Previous experience in Complex Programs and/or ASDEFCON.
- Demonstrated proficiency in continuous improvement practices and project management discipline such as integration, scope, schedule, cost and risk and opportunity management.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
