Female Disability Support Worker – Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Female Disability Support Worker to provide ongoing support to a participant in Malvern East.

The participant lives with schizophrenia and psychosocial disability and would benefit from a Support Worker who has strong mental health experience and understands the importance of person-centred, recovery-focused support.

The successful candidate will be patient, calm, respectful, and confident in supporting someone with complex mental health needs while promoting independence, choice, stability, and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

- Support daily living activities and established routines
- Assist with community access, participation, and social activities
- Support access to appointments, services, and community resources
- Assist with maintaining a safe and stable living environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and wellbeing
- Provide calm, consistent, and respectful support
- Support the participant in working towards recovery and personal goals
- Build and maintain a positive, trusting, and professional relationship
- Maintain appropriate skilled boundaries and participant confidentiality

About You





The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience working in mental health and psychosocial disability
- Ideally, experience supporting people living with schizophrenia
- An understanding of recovery-focused practice
- Experience or understanding of supporting individuals with a history of substance use and recovery
- A patient, calm, reliable, and non-judgmental approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to promote participant choice, dignity, independence, and wellbeing
- A genuine passion for supporting people to achieve greater stability and independence
