About the Chance

This opportunity is for experienced and qualified Support Workers who are interested in joining Helora Support’s talent pool for future participant support shifts across Melbourne.

Future shifts may include support with:

- Personal care and daily living
- Community access and social participation
- Domestic assistance and household tasks
- Transport and appointments
- Skill development and independent living support
- Companionship and emotional support
- Support with daily routines, safety, and community engagement
- High intensity or complex supports where the worker is trained, experienced, and suitable

Duties will depend on the participant’s needs, your experience, qualifications, training, availability, and suitability.

We Are Looking For People Who Are

Helora Support is looking for Support Workers who are:

- Reliable, punctual, kind, patient, and respectful
- Experienced in disability support, mental health, community services, personal care, or daily living support
- Qualified with a relevant certificate or higher qualification
- Respectful toward all genders, cultures, religions, languages, abilities, identities, and backgrounds
- Able to build trust with participants while maintaining professional boundaries
- Comfortable supporting participants with personal care, community access, appointments, routines, and daily living tasks
- Able to follow care plans, support plans, behaviour support strategies, risk instructions, and participant routines




- Able to follow approved instructions from OTs, doctors, nurses, behaviour support practitioners, and other treating professionals where trained, competent, and authorised
- Able to recognise when a task is outside their role or training and report this to Helora Support before proceeding
- Professional with progress notes, incident reporting, communication, and documentation
- Committed to participant choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and safety
- Ready to complete all required screening, onboarding, reference checks, and compliance checks before commencing participant work

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in disability support, mental health, community services, personal care, or a related support sector
- Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, Mental Health, or a related field
- Current Australian driver licence
- Access to a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
- Strong communication skills
- Good professional boundaries
- Ability to travel across Melbourne for participant support shifts
- Ability to follow care plans, policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
- Professional attitude and reliability
- At least two professional references from previous managers, supervisors, coordinators, or relevant workplace contacts

Applicants must also have, or be willing to obtain before commencing participant work:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check, where required
- First Aid and CPR certificate
- Infection control training
- Manual handling training, where required
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You")
- Any other training or documents required for the participant support role

Reference checks may be completed with applicant consent before approval for participant work.
