THE ROLE
The Senior Tenancy Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality end-to-end tenancy management services to residents living in department-owned Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
The role manages an allocated tenancy portfolio and works collaboratively with residents, families, support networks, Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers and internal stakeholders to deliver responsive, resident-centred tenancy services.
The role is responsible for ensuring tenancy matters are managed in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act (1997) (Victoria), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) requirements, departmental policies and operational procedures while identifying emerging risks and escalating matters as appropriate.
The role provides operational leadership, coaching and practice guidance to Tenancy Officers, while supporting them to manage tenancy matters, complaints, stakeholder relationships and operational risks.
The role contributes to continuous improvement, supports consistent tenancy practice and assists the Team Leader in maintaining high quality service delivery across the Tenancy Services team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide high-quality, compliant and resident-focused end-to-end tenancy management services across an allocated portfolio of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) properties in accordance with legislative, regulatory and departmental requirements.
- Manage day-to-day tenancy matters, complaints, stakeholder issues and operational risks by exercising sound judgement, applying legislation and departmental policy, and implementing appropriate solutions to achieve positive resident outcomes.
- Provide day-to-day coaching, mentoring and technical guidance to Tenancy Officers, supporting consistent tenancy practice, quality service delivery and workforce capability across the team.

This is an NDIS Risk Assessed Role / This is a Key Personnel Role.
Staff appointed to this role at the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing may not commence in role until they have an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and have provided this detail for recording.
