About the role and where you will be working:

Reporting to the People Performance Lead, you'll partner closely with leaders and employees across Southern Cross Care WA, providing trusted advice and practical support on a wide range of people matters. Based at our Rivervale Central Office, this full time role offers the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week, supporting a healthy work life balance.

As our People Advisor, you'll play an important role in fostering positive workplace relationships and supporting a high performing, values driven culture. While your primary focus will be on employee and industrial relations matters, including performance management, workplace investigations and employee grievances, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to broader HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding and development through to workforce planning and continuous improvement projects.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Provide expert advice on performance management, misconduct, disciplinary matters and workplace grievances.
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare reports and recommendations.
- Support leaders with employee relations and people management matters.
- Interpret and provide advice on employment legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and organisational policies.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and workforce initiatives.
- Contribute to policy development, compliance activities and continuous improvement projects.




- Analyse people trends and identify opportunities to enhance culture and performance.
- Promote Southern Cross Care WA's values and positive workplace relationships.

About you:

You are a confident and approachable HR professional who thrives in a fast paced environment and is passionate about building positive workplace relationships. With experience providing advice across a range of employee and industrial relations matters, you bring strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements, along with the ability to manage complex issues with professionalism and discretion. You are a skilled communicator who can coach and influence leaders, conduct workplace investigations, navigate conflict, and deliver practical, people focused solutions. Organised, resilient and collaborative, you enjoy partnering with stakeholders at all levels and are committed to fostering a high performing, values driven workplace culture.

To be considered for this role you’ll need:

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a HR generalist, employee relations, or people advisory role.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Proven experience managing performance, misconduct, grievance and disciplinary matters.
- Demonstrated capability to conduct workplace investigations and prepare transparent, evidence based recommendations.
- Strong coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and support leaders at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle sensitive and complex matters with professionalism.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
