About the Role
Our Workforce Strategy team within the Workforce Planning branch in the People and Workforce group have multiple ongoing and temporary opportunities to support with strategic workforce planning and capability development. These roles are focused on strategic workforce development, long-term workforce capability and planning, rather than operational resource planning or workforce allocation activities.

As a Senior Advisor, Strategic Workforce Development you will lead the design and delivery of workforce planning, capability development and talent initiatives that support the NSW public sector to meet current and future workforce challenges for a workforce size of 450,000. Working closely with agencies and senior leaders, you will provide expert advice, undertake supply and demand analysis, facilitate strategic workforce planning activities and develop evidence-based solutions that strengthen workforce capability and organisational performance.

You will manage complex projects, analyse workforce trends and insights, and contribute to the development of whole-of-sector strategies and frameworks. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking and project delivery skills, along with the ability to influence outcomes and operate effectively in dynamic and evolving environments.

We're Looking For

- Workforce Planning & Capability Development Expertise: Demonstrated experience in strategic workforce planning,



workforce strategy, capability development, talent management or organisational development, with the ability to deliver practical solutions to complex workforce challenges.
- Project & Program Delivery: Proven experience leading workforce-related projects, programs or initiatives from inception through to implementation, ensuring outcomes are delivered in complex and changing environments.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Solid ability to build trusted relationships and partner with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders to drive workforce and capability outcomes.
- Facilitation & Communication: Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including experience leading workshops, presenting insights and translating complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Analytical & Evidence-Based Problem Solving: Ability to analyse workforce data, identify emerging workforce trends and risks, and develop strategic, evidence-based recommendations to support decision-making.
