We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join a leading manufacturing organisation. This role will be responsible for driving health, safety, and environmental performance across the site, partnering with leadership teams to develop a strong safety culture and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining strategic HSE planning with practical operational support. You will act as a trusted advisor across the business, ensuring compliance, improving safety outcomes, and supporting employees at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of HSE strategies, initiatives, and continuous improvement programs
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to site teams on all health, safety, and environmental matters
- Manage HSE policies, procedures, and systems in line with legislative and organisational requirements
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and investigations to identify improvement opportunities
- Support incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes
- Analyse HSE performance data, trends, and metrics to drive proactive improvements
- Develop and monitor HSE KPIs, reporting outcomes to key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and management systems
- Coordinate HSE training, inductions, and awareness programs across the business
- Work closely with operational leaders, HR,
and employees to embed a positive safety culture
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across site operations
About You:
You will be an experienced HSE professional with a strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar operational environment.
To be successful, you will have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Health, Safety & Environment role
- Relevant HSE qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, safety systems, and compliance requirements
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety inspections
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive safety improvements across an organisation
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
- Strong analytical skills with experience reporting on HSE metrics and KPIs
- Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills
- Experience with ISO management systems and continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable
