Imparja Television:
Imparja Television is an Aboriginal-owned, independent, not-for-profit commercial television broadcaster based in Alice Springs. Established in 1988, Imparja operates 28 retransmission sites across the Remote Central and Eastern Australia (RCEA) licence area.
Our broadcast footprint covers more than 3.6 million square kilometres across six states and territories, reaching over 200 remote Aboriginal communities and an estimated daily audience of more than one million viewers.
Our signal and the 14 Indigenous radio services for which we provide capacity are uplinked at the Optus Belrose satellite facility and are available on the Viewer Access Satellite Television (VAST) platform.
Main Tasks:
· Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, systems, and user access issues.
· Respond to helpdesk requests, diagnose faults, and resolve technical incidents in a timely manner.
· Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment.
· Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID.
· Administer user accounts, Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and Group Policy settings.
· Assist with the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of computer networks and ICT infrastructure.
· Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot digital media production systems, audio-visual equipment, and conferencing technologies.
· Provide technical support for broadcast, radio, satellite, and telecommunications systems where required.
· Perform software installations, updates,
system patching, and endpoint protection activities.
· Maintain ICT documentation, asset registers, knowledge base articles, and system records.
· Assist with data backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity activities.
· Support ICT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, technology deployments, procurement, and asset management.
Responsibilities:
· Deliver high-quality ICT support services while ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues and minimal disruption to business operations.
· Act as the primary liaison between staff, managed IT service providers, and external technology vendors.
· Ensure ICT systems, networks, and equipment operate efficiently, securely, and in accordance with organisational standards.
· Contribute to the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of ICT infrastructure and technology projects.
· Maintain accurate technical documentation, licensing records, asset registers, and service documentation.
· Assist in implementing cybersecurity controls and ensuring compliance with organisational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate with internal teams to support digital media, broadcast, and operational technology requirements.
· Monitor system performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
· Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety policies and contribute to a safe working environment.
· Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and customer-focused service delivery.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an ICT Support Technician, Helpdesk, or Systems Support role.
- Diploma or higher qualification related to Information Technology
· Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID.
· Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint management.
· Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
· Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
· Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity best practices.
· Solid communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
· Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to remote sites when required.
