As a Security Systems Engineer, your key responsibilities include:
- Ensure continuous operation of security systems, continuous optimisation of security monitoring tools and detect, investigate and respond to cyberattacks, threats and system anomalies.
- Provide expertise in security and privacy including sharing knowledge of the development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of security posture.
- Work across the following domains including but not limited to Data Security, Digital Forensics, IT Security Operations, Communication and Network Security, Software Development Security, Audit & Compliance, Identity and Access Management and Vulnerability Management.
- Ensure the Head of Technology Services is informed of security vulnerabilities, breaches and recommendations as required and on a regular basis.
- Contribute to an aligned and coordinated security operations by working closely with the Security Operations Centre, Infrastructure, Development, Risk and Compliance teams
- Coordinate technical activities with the ITS leadership team and stakeholders including resolving system performance issues, designing and implementing new requirements and scheduling system maintenance windows
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and services across Chisholm and participate in incident response and investigations, including leading mitigation activities, documenting, and reporting findings.
ABOUT YOU
You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in Data Security, Digital Forensics, IT Security Operations, Communication and Network Security, Software Development Security, Identity and Access Management, Audit & Compliance and Vulnerability Management.
You have the ability to negotiate, provide advisory and efficiently communicate and work with internal and external sources. You will have experience with:
network monitoring tools such Splunk/WireShark/ExtraHop or equivalent; email gateway scanning software like Microsoft Exchange/ProofPoint or equivalent; EndPoint security like Microsoft Defender, compliance software like Microsoft Purview and security monitoring tools like Microsoft Sentinel.
You have good knowledge of Technology Risk & Information Security processes, demonstrated ability to write clearly, experience providing effective IT Security Incident Response, performing analysis using security tools and performing vulnerability scans in a professional workplace.
Qualifications required for the role
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related.
- Relevant industry qualification related to Information Security / Cyber Security administration.
