Head Chef | Iconic Richmond Pub

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen brigade at one of Richmond's most iconic and well-loved pubs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven hospitality professional to take ownership of a high-performing kitchen within a respected venue. An attractive salary package, along with additional benefits, will be offered to the successful candidate, based on experience and skills.

Reporting directly to the Group Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management and operation of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, team leadership, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Supervise, mentor, train, and develop the kitchen team.
- Prepare efficient and cost-effective staff rosters.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
- Oversee menu planning with a focus on nutrition, seasonal produce, dietary requirements, and cost control.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Develop and manage kitchen budgets.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on key kitchen performance metrics, including food costs, labour costs, and meal performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional kitchen culture.
- Work collaboratively with the Group Executive Chef and venue management to achieve business objectives.
- Be flexible to work weekends and during peak trading periods and special events.

About You





To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Head Chef or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience leading, supervising, and developing kitchen teams.
- Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to perform under pressure.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
- A professional, positive, and respectful approach when working with colleagues, suppliers, and guests.
- A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
- High personal presentation and hygiene standards.
- Demonstrated experience in menu development, food costing, and catering for diverse dietary requirements.
- Experience managing kitchen budgets, stock control, purchasing, and cost management.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.97 per year
