Mad About Science (MAS) is looking for reliable and energetic casual science presenters/educators to deliver fun, curriculum-aligned and engaging science workshops, incursions and shows to NSW schools and venues.

If you are available immediately and enjoy working and interacting with kids aged 3-14 years, have a fun and friendly personality and a passion for science we would love for you to join our team of presenters.

What you'll do

In this unique role, you will travel to schools and other settings to deliver exciting science workshops and shows to inspire a whole current generation of young scientists. Amaze and wow students in early learning, primary and secondary school settings with workshops and shows across a range of topics from the chemical, physical, biological and space sciences to STEM.

To support your role, MAS will provide full training & materials, a flexible roster (with notice), compensated travel and opportunities to meet new people.

What we are looking for

- Proven public speaking skills and the ability to communicate science clearly and accurately in an engaging way
- Outgoing, energetic and friendly personality who enjoys working with kids
- An interest or a willingness to learn about science
- Current Working with Children Check (employee) or be willing to obtain one
- Reliable car (and driver's licence) and a willingness to travel throughout NSW
- Punctual, dependable and ability to work independently




- Able to start immediately and available at least 3 days per week during school terms (between 8am and 4pm) and some weekends and school holidays
- A teaching and/or science degree is preferred but not essential

This is a casual role for a minimum 12 month period. Given the diverse skill set required, this role is well suited to early childhood educators, CRTs or part time teachers, individuals with a drama or theatre background, or those seeking flexible work to complement study or family commitments.
