Reporting to the Compliance Team Leader, the Compliance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, quality and compliance of the NSW Government's Home Energy Saver Discount Program (HESP).

Working closely with Customer Care, Finance, Operations and Approved Providers, you'll help ensure customer applications, installations and operational processes meet program requirements while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose-driven team helping NSW households access energy-efficient home upgrades that reduce energy costs and improve sustainability outcomes. You'll contribute to maintaining high standards of compliance, quality assurance and continuous improvement across the program.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct compliance and quality assurance reviews throughout the customer journey, including customer eligibility assessments, Customer Agreements, provider documentation and payment approvals.
- Verify installation evidence and supporting documentation prior to payment processing and certificate creation.
- Perform desktop audits and field-based compliance inspections to assess installation quality, WHS requirements and Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) compliance.
- Identify, investigate and escalate compliance issues, customer complaints and Approved Provider performance concerns.
- Support the Finance team through payment verification,



reconciliations and compliance checks relating to customer contributions.
- Assist with compliance reporting, audit preparation and maintaining accurate program records.
- Support Customer Care during periods of peak demand and provide guidance on compliance-related enquiries.
- Build strong relationships with Approved Providers and internal stakeholders to promote program compliance and best practice outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes, systems and operational controls.

Skills & Experience

- Experience in compliance, quality assurance, auditing, risk, governance or a related discipline is preferred.
- Graduates with strong analytical, investigative or problem-solving skills are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify risks, discrepancies and compliance concerns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Confidence working with systems, processes and data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and meet deadlines.
- Experience within government programs, energy efficiency, construction, utilities or other regulated industries is desirable but not essential.
- Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship is required.
