Position Overview

The Foster Care Practitioner plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality case management and support services within the Partners in Foster Care program. This position primarily focuses on Supporting Foster Care Services, working directly with foster carers, children, and key stakeholders to ensure safe and stable placements.

The role requires compliance with legislative and organisational standards while contributing to continuous service improvement. The Foster Care Practitioner will also maintain knowledge of all Partners in Foster Care services to support operational needs.

Candidate Profile





We are looking for a motivated individual with a background in Child Protection or Human Services and a commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of children and young people.

- Experience in Child Protection or related fields is essential.
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Social Work, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the Child Protection Act and relevant industry standards.
- Ability to engage with and support foster carers, particularly those with complex needs.
- Solid time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines

As a Foster Care Practitioner, you will be expected to have a commitment to cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities. You should be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of clients, including participation in an on-call roster.

Salary & Benefits

This position is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 4 with a starting salary of $46.70 per hour, plus access to not for profit salary packaging options to maximise your take-home pay.
