Due to continued growth, we are seeking a highly experienced Painter to join our team. This role is suited to an all-round tradesperson who has extensive experience across residential and commercial painting, protective coatings, epoxy flooring systems, spray applications, and elevated work platforms.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for completing a wide range of painting and coating works while maintaining exceptional workmanship, productivity, and safety standards.

This is a hands-on position requiring a tradesperson who can work independently, supervise quality on site when required, and confidently complete projects from preparation through to final finishes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Preparing all internal and external surfaces including sanding, scraping, washing, patching, filling, caulking and priming.
- Assessing existing substrates and determining appropriate preparation and coating systems.
- Applying paints, stains, varnishes, enamels, protective coatings and specialty finishes using brushes, rollers and airless spray equipment.
- Operating airless spray machines and conventional spray equipment for walls, ceilings, doors, trims, steelwork and large commercial areas.




- Completing high-quality residential repaint and new build projects.
- Completing commercial painting works including offices, schools, apartment buildings, aged care facilities, retail spaces, warehouses and government projects.
- Applying epoxy flooring systems including:
- Concrete grinding and preparation
- Moisture testing
- Crack and surface repairs
- Primers
- Epoxy coatings
- Polyurethane top coats
- Decorative flake systems
- Non-slip finishes
- Completing protective coating applications on concrete, steel and masonry surfaces.
- Matching colours and ensuring consistent finishes across projects.
- Reading plans, specifications and project documentation.
- Estimating material quantities and minimising waste.
- Protecting surrounding areas and ensuring clean, skilled worksites.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
- Coordinating with supervisors, builders and other trades to meet project deadlines.
- Following all WHS requirements, SWMS and company safety procedures.
- Performing work safely at heights using elevated work platforms and boom lifts where required.

Essential Skills & Experience

Applicants must demonstrate:





- Minimum 5 years of full-time experience as a professional Painter.
- Extensive experience in both residential and commercial painting.
- Proven experience applying epoxy flooring systems from preparation through to final coating.
- Strong experience using airless spray equipment and conventional spray systems.
- Excellent knowledge of:
- Surface preparation
- Paint systems
- Coating specifications
- Decorative finishes
- Protective coatings
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to interpret plans and project specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- High level of reliability, professionalism and work ethic.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must hold:

- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Boom Lift (WP) High Risk Work Licence or equivalent certification.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
- Ability to work across multiple project locations throughout South East Queensland.

Highly Desirable

The following will be highly regarded:

- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent trade qualification.
- Experience supervising small painting crews.
- Experience with commercial fit-outs and large-scale projects.
- Experience working from scissor lifts, boom lifts and elevated work platforms.
- Experience using dustless sanding systems.
- Ability to carry out minor plastering and patch repairs prior to painting.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
