Position Information
Sydney Girls High School is an academically selective secondary school with entrance in Year 7 via the NSW Department of Education’s selective school test and subsequently, in Years 8-11, through a school-based enrolment procedure prioritising academic and co-curricular achievement. Situated in Moore Park, with an enrolment of 930 students, 89% of whom are from Non English Speaking Backgrounds, travel from a widespread geographic area to attend the school which is well-known for its academic success and emphasis on co-curricular education. Over and above the intellectual domain, the school actively seeks to foster participation in all domains of the High Potential and Gifted Education Policy, with strong programs in the physical, creative and socio-emotional domains. As the oldest continuous public high school in NSW, the history of the school is a prominent feature, with many successful alumnae returning to school to support and inspire current students. There is a strong emphasis on evidence-based practices and community consultation to ensure that processes and practices, including teaching and learning, wellbeing, and administration, are dynamic and culturally responsive.

Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Information and Software Technology, Design and Technology, Engineering Studies/ Industrial Technology – Engineering, and/or willingness to teach Food Technology.

Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of a faculty and contribute to developing effective teaching programs and resources that support the engagement of high potential students.
- Willingness to contribute to co-curricular and whole school programs to enhance student learning and engagement.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
