We're looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager to lead the technical development and commercial success of complex data centre cooling projects across the Pacific region.
The Role
This is a customer-facing role where you'll combine thermal engineering expertise with technical sales, bid management, and solution design to support strategic data centre customers from early concept through project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the trusted technical advisor for data centre cooling solutions, including chilled water plants, precision cooling (CRAH/CRAC), and liquid cooling technologies.
- Lead the design and optimisation of chilled water systems, central plant architecture, and integrated cooling solutions.
- Influence customers and consultants during early project design and Basis of Design (BoD) development.
- Own the technical pricing strategy and lead end-to-end bid development for complex engineered solutions.
- Develop competitive cost models, equipment selections, and value-engineered solutions that balance performance, risk, and commercial outcomes.
- Partner with Strategic Account Managers to develop compelling technical proposals and support major customer pursuits.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, supply chain, and delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain technical governance, proposal quality, CRM accuracy, and pipeline management.
About You
You are a commercially minded engineering professional with extensive experience delivering thermal solutions for critical environments.
You'll bring:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in HVAC, chiller systems, or thermal plant solutions, ideally within the data centre sector.
- Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, central plant design, precision cooling, and liquid cooling technologies.
- Experience in technical sales, bid management, pricing, and value engineering of complex projects.
- Strong understanding of BMS and controls integration.
- Proven ability to influence customers, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and commercial acumen.
- Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce is desirable.
