As a Senior Insider Threat Analyst, you will play a critical role in protecting Optus by identifying, assessing, and responding to risks that may impact our people, systems, information, and operations.

Working as part of a highly collaborative security function, you will investigate potential insider risks, contribute to the continuous improvement of security controls and processes, and provide trusted advice to stakeholders across the business. This role requires a combination of analytical thinking, investigative expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work confidently with sensitive and confidential information.

Due to the requirements of this role, we are currently only able to consider applications from Australian Citizens.

What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of

Lead and support insider threat investigations, including evidence collection, timeline reconstruction, case management, formal reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Operate and improve detection and analytical capabilities across multiple technologies.
Develop and maintain investigative and response playbooks, determining severity, impact, and recommending appropriate remediation and risk mitigation actions.
Support a whole of organisation approach by collaborating with key stakeholders to support risk mitigation and resolution activities.
Drive proactive risk reduction through the continuous improvement of policies, processes, controls and awareness initiatives that strengthen organisational security.




Maintain knowledge of emerging threats and industry guidelines relating to insider risk and investigations.

What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role?

Experience in cyber security, security operations, investigations, intelligence analysis, risk management, digital forensics, law enforcement, or a related field.
Strong analytical and investigative abilities, capable of evaluating complex situations and making well-founded, evidence-supported decisions.
Experience leading or supporting complex investigations involving highly sensitive information and multiple stakeholders, with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
Knowledge of evidence handling, chain of custody processes, and the creation of defensible investigation documentation.
Experience working with security technologies, monitoring platforms, or investigative tools within a corporate or government environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience producing data driven reports, findings, and recommendations for a range of audiences.
Experience and knowledge of security, risk, governance, and compliance principles within a complex organisational environment.
A proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and a dedication to continuous improvement.
