Occupational Therapy Assistant (Allied Health Assistant)
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our growing Occupational Therapy team. This role involves working with both children and adults participating in the NDIS across a variety of settings to support the delivery of individualised therapy programs under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver ongoing therapy programs as delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
- Support NDIS participants to work towards their therapy goals in home, school, and community settings.
- Assist with therapy preparation, resources, and equipment.
- Complete clinical documentation and general administrative tasks.
- Travel to appointments throughout the Mid North Coast, including between Kempsey and Woolgoolga.
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain professional standards, confidentiality, and accurate records.
Some participants present with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. The successful applicant will be confident, calm, and able to build positive therapeutic relationships while working safely and respectfully with clients who may display challenging behaviours. Support and guidance will be provided by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
The ideal applicant will be organised, reliable, have excellent communication skills, enjoy working with people of all ages, and be comfortable working independently while travelling between appointments.
Pay: $35.00 – $46.00 per hour
