We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Kitchen Assistant to work in our production kitchen at St Vincent’s Private Hospital to maintain high levels of professional standards in servicing patients across St Vincent’s Darlinghurst Campus.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital production kitchen is a cook fresh facility with a high-quality food safety accredited meal service, producing more than 60,000 meals per month. This is a large team of approx. 50 staff in this busy kitchen. You will be directly managed by the kitchen supervisor, them reporting to the Executive chef.

About the role

- Cleaning and Washing up responsibilities





- Utilisation of 2 large commercial dishwashers

- Correct application of chemicals for cleaning purposes

- Following processes for stock and equipment

- Adhering to a daily time schedule.

This role will be casual with a rotational roster with 7 days a week. Shifts range from:

- Daytime (6am, 7.30, 11am start - Rotational)

- Afternoon /evening (12.30pm start)

Pay and benefits for this role:

- $36.40 per hour (including casual loading)

- Plus superannuation

- Plus salary packaging (up to $15,900/year tax‑free)

About you

- Working in a teamwork environment

- Awareness of WHS responsibilities

- Attention to detail - Able to follow Instructions and food safety principles

- Previous experience in washrooms/cleaning

- Time management skills and Punctuality

- Valuable communication skills

- Flexibility to cover shifts over 7 days, early mornings and afternoon shifts

- Willingness to work in the evenings
