In this role, you'll:
TFLE Team Leader – Expression of Interest for temporary opportunities up to 24 months in the Newcastle Region, working on Sydney’ largest train upgrade project.
An exciting opportunity exists to join a talent pool supporting an established rail project in the Newcastle region. We are seeking qualified and motivated candidates to ensure that assets are upgraded, commissioned, and meet the project’s technical, quality, and safety requirements, as well as those set by the Independent Regulator.
This is an excellent opportunity to refine your skills, while gaining valuable exposure to the priorities, operations and standards of Sydney Trains, which could be invaluable for your career trajectory within the rail industry.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead, direct, coach and work within a team who undertake the efficient inspection, servicing, modification,
upgrading and repair of passenger trains on time, within cost and to safety and quality standards in line with the TFLE project requirements over multiple production lines.
- Manage and monitor production progress in accordance with the project schedule and production sequence.
- Determine priorities and allocate team resources to complete work against strict deadlines.
- Report directly to the Production Delivery Manager on production progress and issues as they arise.
This is an on-site position based in Newcastle, NSW. Due to the operational requirements of the role, hybrid working arrangements cannot be accommodated.

About you
You have electrical, mechanical, or fabrication qualification and experience in rolling stock manufacture or other heavy vehicle or manufacturing environment as well as being a strong communicator, lateral thinker and having refined planning skills.
You possess experience overseeing rolling stock works across a range of disciplines
You possess strong understanding of national and international rail regulations, ensuring adherence to transport safety guidelines, Independent Regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
You have proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks, be versatile and resourceful with a high degree of initiative.
You can work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and complete tasks effectively.
